Karolina Salaj, Senior 3D Visualiser & BA Interior Designer, UE Artist
London Metropolitan University
I’m a Senior 3D Visualiser and Interior Designer with 17 years of experience, specialising in 3ds Max, V-Ray, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and, more recently, Unreal Engine. Over the years, I’ve worked on complex, high-end projects across the yachting, aviation, and architectural sectors.
I was born and raised in Poland, where I developed a passion for construction, architecture, and — most of all — geometry, with a particular fascination for descriptive geometry. From an early age, I began making clothes, taught by my grandmother to use a sewing machine. By the age of eight, I had built my first doll’s house from cardboard boxes and crafted a tent with proper DIY construction. My childhood was filled with creativity, books, and animals — and at that time, I dreamt of becoming a fashion designer.
But it was Interior Architecture that truly captured my heart. I studied the subject for a year in my hometown of Łódź before moving to London, where I earned a BA in Interior Design and Technology from London Metropolitan University. It was during my time at London Met that I discovered my love for 3ds Max — and the world of CGI.
Since then, I’ve collaborated with a range of companies in London and internationally, including:
Winch Design – where I worked full-time for over nine years: the last four as Yacht Lead & Senior Visualiser, and the five before that as a CGI Designer
1.61 London – solo Visualiser
Modelworks Media – where I got promoted from Junior to Midweight Visualiser
Logitech – freelance
Linley – freelance
1508 London – Junior Visualiser, I joined 1508 London using Mental Ray and left using VRay
Red Square Creative – Intern, later Junior Visualiser/Interior Designer
I’ve also created bespoke interiors for several private Clients. Most recently, I launched
Whit3 Rabbit Studio.
With a sharp eye for detail and strong project management skills, I bring both precision and creativity to every brief. My passion for art and beauty drives everything I do — blending colour, design, and technology to deliver immersive, visually striking results.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me travelling, constantly updating my house and garden, or behind a wheel. I recently explored the winding roads of Masca in Tenerife, drawing inspiration along the way.
